Don't try to apply all the tips at once. Choose the couple you like the most and apply them to specific projects. Once you have made them work or you are close to apply them on automatic pilot, come back and select one or two more tips to work on.
- Don't get stuck in the trap of reading other blogs. It may seem contrarian, but read less. Write from knowledge and experience more.
- Guest blogging can be a great source of traffic. Find high traffic blogs in your niche and offer them a high-quality post written for their specific audiences.
- Draw some attention to your blog. Start a drawing or contest and have entrants leave a comment for their entries.
- Write about popular bloggers in your niche to bring attention to your blog. Keep it positive and constructive.
- Use images in your blog posts. They can draw the eye in and convey a certain image that furthers the point of your post.
- Blog often, but don't blog for the sake of blogging. Make sure you attend to the other aspects of your business and blog when you have something interesting to say.
- Start a conversation on your blog by asking your readers a question. Email your list and ask them to leave comments on your blog.
- Is your RSS feed on every page of your blog and above the fold in a prominent place? If not, better go fix that.
- Offer an RSS to email subscription of your blog. Some users will prefer email to using an RSS reader.
- Link to other relevant content readily in your blog posts. Sharing good content will be appreciated by your readers and helps you get noticed by other sites. Plus, you'll likely get some links back, too.
- Make sharing your blog posts easy. Include social sharing buttons at the top and bottom of all your posts.
